Community Service Committee Update – April 2021

Thanks to the efforts of the NAIOP Community Service Committee Members that volunteered in January, February and March to help 2021 off to a great start.

In January, throughout National Human Trafficking and Slavery Awareness month, our committee members donated paper goods and cleaning supplies to Refuge for Women Las Vegas, which is a non-profit organization providing specialized long-term care for women who have escaped human trafficking or sexual exploitation.

In February, our committee members participated in the annual Ronald McDonald House Charities donation drive. Committee members helped picked up donations from Smith’s grocery store throughout the valley and others help to sort and stock the pantry. The event collected 8.7 tons of food and household supplies, as well as $10,955 in gift cards and cash donations. These donations will help fuel the programs and resources that support and comfort the parents of Nevada’s sick children.

Throughout March and April, the Committee will spearhead their 2021 Virtual Fundraising Campaign for the Make-A-Wish Foundation challenge called, “What will you do for a Make-A-Wish donation?” Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses within our own community. Our Committee members have stepped up to the challenge and are sharing what they are willing to do for your donation. Check out their videos here!

To help support our fundraising initiative and make a child’s wish come true, make sure to donate to Team NAIOP or one of our member’s pages today click here.
