How winners are selected for NAIOP Southern Nevada Spotlight Awards
Recognizing all the work that’s involved in entering, congratulations to all the NAIOP Southern Nevada Spotlight Awards finalists. And, if you are wondering how the winners are selected, read on.
This notable event recognizes distinguished commercial real estate entities in Southern Nevada. This program is designed to highlight NAIOP members and their impact on the industry and serves to increase public awareness of their outstanding achievements.
Industry Awards
Judging for the Industry Awards is performed via an electronic survey process where active NAIOP committee members and board members have the opportunity to judge the nominations and finalists are notified following the conclusion of the judging process. All finalists are announced the evening of the event and the winners receive the prestigious Southern Nevada Spotlight Awards trophy on stage at the event.
Industry Awards are scored based on company volume, notable deals, NAIOP Southern Nevada involvement, national NAIOP involvement, overall community involvement, and the firm’s forward thinking and innovation.
Project Awards
Judging for the Project Awards is completed virtually by peers in comparable positions to the Southern Nevada chapter membership in a comparable market. Finalists are notified following the conclusion of the judging process as Project Merit Award winners. All finalists are announced the evening of the event and the winners receive the prestigious Southern Nevada Spotlight Awards trophy on stage at the ceremony.
Project Awards are judged based on a variety of components including the complexity of challenges the project team overcame, the project’s impact on the local community, as well as sustainability components. The judges review the site plans and photos as part of their selection in determining which project receives the Honor Award. Project submissions are kept anonymous and must exclude company names to protect impartiality. Each year, the judges are selected from various NAIOP chapters from across the nation. The judges also review and evaluate the project photography and site plans into their selection for the Honor Award. Projects completed within the past three years are eligible for submission, provided they have not previously received the Spotlight Honor Award.
NAIOP Southern Nevada honored the best in the industry at its 27th annual NAIOP Spotlight Awards back on February 24, 2024 at Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa. With a theme of “NAIOP a’ Paris,” the event attracted nearly 700 Chapter members and guests.
