These are difficult, strange, and extraordinary times we live in. The meaning of “normal” is changing every day and it’s hard to feel like you have a firm footing on anything. It’s like watching a wave and not knowing when or where it’s going to break, and what will happen when it does.
Our companies have encouraged us to work from home whenever possible and stay hyper vigilante about the surfaces we touch and the people we come into contact with. Corporate functions and social gatherings have been canceled or suspended until “further notice”, and travel into or through certain states is not only discouraged but followed by a 14 day self imposed quarantine. Just to be safe. Sound familiar?
This is when we remind ourselves not to freak out, but remain calm, and we’ll get through it. We will, you know. And we’ll do it together. We’ll do it by offering help and advice to each other on business development and financial transactions. We’ll do it by honoring our commitments to our tenants, landlords, consultants, and municipalities. And by simply being there for each other. We may not have control over COVID-19, but we can control what we do and how we act. It is in these times we appreciate the connections we have made through NAIOP and our shared successes despite the challenges we have faced. We have an awesome organization because it is made up of you.
To help us stay on top of the latest developments regarding COVID-19, the Government Affairs Policy Steering Committee assembled the webpage links below.
