- Senate committee hearing considers Washoe and Clark County Lands Bills. The Washoe County Lands Bill proposes the availability of 16,000 acres for development, alongside 774,000 acres designated for conservation. In comparison, the Clark County lands bill offers 25,000 acres for development and allocates 2 million acres for conservation.

- The Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act of 1998 identified approximately 67,000 acres out of 2.9 million in the Las Vegas Valley for potential commercial or residential development. Additionally, around 33,000 acres of smaller BLM parcels throughout the county are also identified for disposal and potential development.
