    • Jamie Thalgott and Steve Neiger of NAIOP discuss the reasons Clark County needs more land released from the government. The issues mentioned are economic factors, renewable energy, taxes, water availability,  conservation, and housing affordability.

  • Nevada Current June 17, 2024
    • Senate committee hearing considers Washoe and Clark County Lands Bills. The Washoe County Lands Bill proposes the availability of 16,000 acres for development, alongside 774,000 acres designated for conservation. In comparison, the Clark County lands bill offers 25,000 acres for development and allocates 2 million acres for conservation.

  • Las Vegas Review-Journal July 2, 2024
    • The Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act of 1998 identified approximately 67,000 acres out of 2.9 million in the Las Vegas Valley for potential commercial or residential development. Additionally, around 33,000 acres of smaller BLM parcels throughout the county are also identified for disposal and potential development.

Ivanpah Airport

    • Harry Reid International Airport is almost at capacity. Clark County Department of Aviation is considering building an airport in Ivanpah in the next 13 years.
