Community Service Committee Update – July & August
August Report
It’s good that you caught me early before the fun stuff hits the fan. It’s definitely the summer of giving this year due to the amount of events happening this month and next.
First, if you haven’t donated your gently used business attire and ties to our ‘Knot-Tied-Down’ campaign, now is the time to clean out your closet. August will be the last month at the afternoon meeting.
Second, remember to bring cash for raffle tickets at the Bowling Tournament. The prizes are bigger and better this year and all proceeds will go to organizations that we currently assist.
Also in August, we are collecting school supplies for our annual drive to help out Howard Hollingsworth Elementary School. Bring your donations to the afternoon NAIOP event. We will have a table set up in the back of the room.
Third, are you a runner, jogger or simply enjoy the outdoors? Sign up online and join Team NAIOP in this year’s Candlelighters Superhero 5K. Our team grows every year so we look forward to seeing you out there! Click here to register and select Team NAIOP.
July Report
Way to go again to NAIOP’s “Rack Pack” Dragon Boat race team who took 3rd in their heat in the May race at Lake Las Vegas. Click here to check out the drone video donated by NAIOP Member Tyson Clayton of Skyview Solutions LLC. Proceeds benefited Breast Care Center – Summerlin Hospital; Children’s Cancer Center of Summerlin; Pueblo Medical Imaging and The Blind Center of Nevada.
Another big thank you to those who also donated at our Street Teens food & supply drive at the May Afternoon Program & Mixer. Your donations really go a long way to help homeless teens in Southern Nevada.
Think it’s a little toasty outside? Help yourself out and take off that tie! Our annual ‘Knot Tied Down’ clothing drive is currently underway from June through August. Bring in your gently used business attire that is taking up space in your closet. We are collecting at the NAIOP monthly breakfast/afternoon meetings or you can drop off your items at Lee & Sakahara’s office at 6280 S. Valley View Blvd. # 116. Just ask for Chris Teachman. All clothing is being donated to Communities In Schools at the end of August.
Thank you to the Membership Committee for allowing us to set up a raffle table at this year’s Bowling Tournament on August 2nd at the Gold Coast. We had pretty good prizes last year and will have even better this year. All proceeds collected will fund the various organizations we assist throughout the year! Remember to bring cash!
